London: Police have described a “revelation moment” in their investigation of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, which changed their theory as to when the child may have been abducted.
They believe that “on one reading of the evidence” the abduction was planned beforehand.
A combination photo shows two e-fit images released by the Metropolitan Police of a man they want to identify and trace in connection with their investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Jury selection starts today in the murder trial of Dr Martin MacNeill.
The trial will be live streamed.
Nicole Pietz disappeared from the couple’s Lynnwood home on January 28, 2006. A week later her naked body was found in Burien woods. Nicole died from strangulation.
On March 21, 2012, Nicole’s husband, Martin (David) Pietz was arrested, more than six years after her murder.
King County prosecutors had built a strong circumstantial case against Pietz. Senior Deputy Prosecutor Kristin Richardson claimed Pietz grew tired and bored with Nicole and needed her out of the way to pursue his extramarital affairs.
On October 14, 2013 Pietz was found guilty of second degree murder. He will be sentenced at a later time and faces between 10 and 18 years in prison.
The family of Nicole wept in Court as the verdict was read.
Justice was served.
