Will Jodi Ann Arias receive the Death Penalty ~ POLL

Jodi arias is a stalker period , she would kill again if given a chance , she might have gotten some sympathy had she not have moved to Arizona and pulled all that crap , the writing was on the wall he was useing her for sex , she thought she was going to blackmail and force TRAVIS into marriage when that all failed she premetitadate his murder , hope she gets the worst sentence possible , he was no saint but I truly believe the devil was trying to pull him down , TRAVIS was a young man with many struggles had he he lived I believe he would have worked it out with God and would have been a great man and would have done great things , JA took that away from him and his family , she played God .

This maybe a little offtopic, but maybe one of you will know. What exactly is the lead Detective (Flores if I remember right?) doing there each day? I saw him testify a while ago, but since then, he just seems to sit there during the whole thing. Is there something that he does behind the scenes, like on a computer or something, that I’m just not seeing?

I really don’t think she’ll get the death penalty. I would love to see it happen, but just don’t think it will. I’m leaning more toward LWOP. As far as premeditation goes, it doesn’t have to be weeks or months, it could have been moments from when she couldn’t get Travis to change his mind about Cancun. Aggravating factors?!?!?! For pity’s sake, I think there’s a “slight” amount of cruelty, borderline terrorism, in the 29 stab wounds; several of those IN HIS BACK when he was no threat!!! And what human being doesn’t call 9-1-1 after they’ve had to take a life in self defense? Even crazy, narcissistic, histrionic, anti-social Diane Downs took her children to the hospital. Francine Hughes (of Burning Bed fame) went to the police and confessed. In a nutshell, I just hope this jury gets it right.

There is enough evidence in this case for a triple death penalty.

JA did not say if I did it, i would have only done it under duress of self defense, she said if I did this I should get the death penalty. Haunting and very telling words – she basically said – in other words – if I did it, it would have been premeditated and deserving of the death penalty. In interrogation Einstein was denying a premeditated murder, not a self defense murder!

I believe that she will not get the death penalty, because there are not enough aggravating factors. I don’t see how the jury would be able to LEGALLY justify a dp sentence, assuming they find her guilty of 1st degree murder.

Aggravating factors? Its the Mortality of it.. She stabbed him 27 times, Slit his throat and shot him… if thats not aggravating I dont know what is.

The aggravating factors for AZ would be if he suffered (no question) and premeditation – which I believe Mr> Martinez has proven

They couldn’t find the gun to test it to see if it is the same gun that the grandma had, they couldn’t find the knife, they don’t
have any witnesses that saw JA in AZ June4th, no receipts, no footage, so the only thing that will prove premeditation as far as I know is the gas can, she lied she had it when she went to Utah, and the receipts show she dispensed enough gas to fill all the gas cans and her tank, the gas can is the single evidence that will prove her premeditation sending her straight to hell.

good Lord. They have a picture of her dragging his body across the bathroom. where and what have you been watching!!!!

They did not have to prove the gun was from her Nan’s house. Jodi admitted to shooting Travis. Nobody is disputing anything about the gun, make and model. The only dispute about the gun is that she said she shot him first and the Prosecution and the Medical Examiner said Travis was shot right at the end.

She drove across the desert. Who does that without extra supplies such as gas and food? The gun that was stolen from her grandfathers was not the gun used against Travis. The stolen gun was loaded with hollow point bullets. One shot and his head would have been fragmented and shattered beyond recognition. The ME report shows a standard bullet (round point).

I don’t think she will get the DP because she is a young woman. But I am sure she will never get to finish her “1000 places to see” or be an inspiring photographer or artist. She should have gotten help with her obsession and manipulation when her mom and dad noticed a problem with her years ago. It’s just all around sad for all involved in this horrible crime.

The death penalty is not spared to anyone because of age, it is determined on the facts of the case.

Wendy Andrianno is also a young woman, and she has two little children, she killed her husband and is serving time on Death Row.
Age is not a factor in a DP case.

I agree with you Sharon but, she was a child. When do parents not take responsibility for their kids well being? I have suspicions about those parents, the state of their own mental health…

Prison for life without parole. Death would be too easy unless she was on death row for 20 years never knowing when her time will come.

What they shoudl do is put a picture of Travis in her cell and have her in there for the rest of her natural life, until she dies, that way she will have to see the face of the Good Man that she took from this earth. Jodi Arias is nothing more than a common sociopathic murderer.

Most of the innocent dogs in our shelters and impound units deserve life much more than does Jodi Arias who mercilessly slaughtered an unarmed man. Some of the dogs may get reprieved….but I sure hope Arias does not!!!

IMO, LWOP in a prison, in stark comparison to her present living conditions, would be much more painful and for a malignant narcissist like Ms. Arias.

I think she would love prison, she would feel like miss America there , just like her singing in the jail American idol thing, she would never have to work another day in her life, get to see her friends and family, watch tv,read, draw her art with supplies we pay for, eat 3 meals a day she didn’t have to slave over and so on…IMOP let her worry every day that they will one day they will call upon her to give her last rights, the crime she committed was heinous and cruel!

totally agree leona… she’s already “queen” for the day in prison…

She deserves the death penalty because she murdered Travis 4 times – stab to the heart, slit throat, gun shot to the head, and the assassination of his character.

If ever a female deserved the death penalty it is JA. She has lied and manipulated everybody in this case……friends, family, cops, lawyers, expert witnesses, people watching. Basically everything she says is a lie. I’m surprised there are some idiots on HLN who actually believe her..she deserves death but will probably not get it. I just don’t want her to have a life in prison like she has had in jail. I’d love to see her get death but could live with life/no parole and 23 hours a day in her cell. No TV, no books, no computer, no phone calls, no writing utensils, no art supplies. Just 23 hrs. A day of solitary and then a daily walk in the court yard by herself. A life of nothingness. Kudos to Juan Martinez and the job he’s done. He WILL get justice fornTravis..

I believe if there was ever a case of stalking and premeditated murder, this is it! She got what she wanted, to be forever “connected” to Travis Alexander. Prayers to his family and friends. And all of the people who loved and enjoyed his company. We think she should get the same sentence…..death. We certainly don’t want her free to kill in another “FOG”!

Does Jodi Arias deserve the death penalty? Absolutely. But will she get it? Probably not. Let’s not beat around the bush here. Jodi Arias is a woman – and history shows us that juries don’t really like to put women on death row. What she did was absolutely inexcusable and should she be given the death penalty, I will 100% agree with the decision. I hope it happens, but I don’t think it will.

I think death and to be honest I have always been against the death penalty, but this crazy murder shares me. If she were to be free I would never want her to meet any male I know, for instance my sons. She has no soul, no moral compass. Look at how much fun she is having in jail. I think she would manage to get privileges if she is anywhere but death row! She has a twitter account, receives mail, sells her art (all created while in prison), while the state of Arizona will spend millions on her defense and coming appeals. Death penalty! Travis Alexander’s family wants the death penalty and they should get their wish! My heart goes out to all of the family and friends that love Travis. She stalked him and killed him, period!

she only gets all this while she is in trial that is why she is prolonging the trial and the DA councelled her to take as long as she could on Witness stand so Jodi could enjoy the time out of her cell!! We have to remember that this news and Jodi will be old in about 2 months the fight for Justice for Travis will be forever!

I think she is guilty of premeditated murder in the 1st Degree. But I do not think they will give her death. I just hope they at least give her Life without Parole because I don’t want her to get out in a few years and do this to someone else.

I definitely believe she is guilty of premeditated murder. Do I think she will be convicted of that? Nope. I think the testimony of the expert of LaViolette is a joke but I wonder if she was able to cast just enough doubt. I’d like to think not but in these things you just never know. I think Martinez did a great job of discrediting ALV but only time will tell. She is a very cold and calculating person. She is one person who truly deserves the maximum allowed by law.

u have to remember Judy that even Al testified that she questioned why Jody had requested 2 gas cans 2 days prior to trip if her trip was last minute, also lets remember the gun that went missing and the same caliber gun used in the shooting of Travis and also she told Al she shot him in the closet when the whole time in court she said the bathroom! Id also like to make a point of saying that in terrogation the detective said he knew Travis was shot first (maybe to get her to admit) but she also said she said her story to follow forensics so she says she shot him first! REALLLY??? how does a dry bullet end up on Dry Blood if shot was done first!!! Just another dumb azz comment by JA

Jodi Arias deserves the death penalty. She drove 1000 miles to his house, and when she couldn’t persuade him to recommence their relationship, because he was determined to move on; Jodi Arias brutally murdered Travis Alexander: stabbing him 29 times (9 times in his back); slitting his throat until he was nearly decapitated; and, then shot him. Jodi Arias showed no mercy and has no humanity. The heinous and cruel nature of her sadistic slaughter warrants the ultimate punishment.

Premeditated First Degree Murder. Death.

It’s not that simple; there is a processes that jurors go through in the penalty phase to determine if convict qualifies for the dp – aggravating and mitigating factors.

I believe she should receive the death penalty due to the circumstances of the murder. I watch the trial everyday & follow it on the internet. She brutally murder Travis Alexander & the way she murdered him is not self defense. Also she rented a car, 3 gas cans full of gas, the gun, she drove over 1,000 miles & the upside down licsense plate. That is premeditated murder & she should pay with her life.
